Yes, boys and girls, it's November, and that means it's time for
National Novel Writing Month!

Only 7 days to go and I'm not even halfway there. Wrists, don't fail me now!

Camp NaNo WIN

I reached my goal and won Camp NaNo with my still-unfinished screenplay. As usual, the plot bunnies took over and I have now plotted at least a trilogy. 



Starting over in July

So April's Camp NaNoWriMo turned out not so well. I was completely preoccupied as my beloved maltese's health declined. He crossed the rainbow bridge on May 30. I miss that sweet little man!

So I'm taking the same idea and starting over from scratch. Doing well so far - almost 5,000 words as of July 6, which puts me ahead of schedule since I've chosen 20,000 words as my goal. 20,000 screenplay words is about a two hour movie. Considered a little long these days, but my goal is not to market the thing, only to complete it for my own pleasure. Of course, if I end up astonishing myself with my brilliance, who knows?

Time for Camp NaNoWriMo! I'm writing a screenplay this year. I think it rocks! Steven Spielberg will, too.

And here's one that shows how well or poorly I do each day compared to the average required word count of 1,667 words per day (that's a 50,000 word goal for the month, divided by 30 days in November):

It's that happy time of year again! This year I'm doing 2005 redux, and throwing all my characters onto one of the Florida Keys in a hurricane (or something else?) that forces them to deal with each other in close quarters.

Hmmmm... if only we could lock in all the members of Congress till they got stuff done...
